Our community in action

What we've been working on

Events are only one part of CEFC. Behind every celebration is a team of volunteers building relationships, planning ahead, supporting our community and representing Filipino voices across Cheshire East.

We approached the Market Hall to help more people discover CEFC, particularly Filipinos who are new to Crewe and Cheshire East. We received a wonderfully warm welcome from Abi Short, Manager of Crewe Market Hall, who kindly invited us to display our banner.

For us, it’s another small but meaningful way to help newcomers discover their local Filipino community, make connections and feel at home.

A huge maraming salamat po to Abi and the Crewe Market Hall team for supporting and welcoming our community. 🇵🇭🇬🇧

New to the area? Welcome, Kabayan — come and be part of our growing CEFC family!

We were there to support another community bringing people together through culture, music and celebration. Events like Cheshire Afrofest are a wonderful reminder of the diversity we share here in Crewe and the importance of communities supporting one another.

While enjoying the festival, we also had the opportunity to meet local people and spread the word about our upcoming Cheshire East Barrio Fiesta 2026, handing out flyers and inviting everyone to join us at Queens Park on 25 July.

For CEFC, being part of the wider community is just as important as celebrating our own Filipino heritage. Supporting each other’s events helps build friendships, strengthen connections and create a more welcoming and inclusive Cheshire East.

Maraming salamat to the Cheshire Afrofest organisers and everyone who stopped to speak with us. We were proud to support your celebration and share a little of the Filipino community with you too. 🇵🇭🤝🌍

Hosted by the Mayor of Crewe in partnership with Churches Together at The Haven on North Street, the event brought people from many different backgrounds together to meet, share stories and celebrate the diversity that makes Crewe such a vibrant community.

CEFC was proud to represent our Filipino community and to bring Filipino food to share, giving other members of the community an opportunity to discover some of our flavours while we enjoyed food and traditions shared by other cultures too.

Food has a wonderful way of bringing people together. Sitting around a table, trying something new and talking to people we may not have met before can turn strangers into friends.

For CEFC, evenings like this are an important part of what being a community organisation means. We are proud of our Filipino heritage, and equally proud to be part of the wider and wonderfully diverse community here in Crewe.

Maraming salamat to the Mayor of Crewe, Churches Together and everyone involved in creating such a warm and welcoming evening. 🇵🇭🇬🇧❤️

For Cheshire East Filipino Community, receiving invitations to occasions such as this is important. It gives us an opportunity not only to represent our Filipino community, but also to build relationships and take an active part in the wider civic and community life of Crewe.
